Reminder… Blue Pool access road now closed:
Message from Taupo Trout Fishery
Following on from recent posts and as a reminder to those heading to the Tongariro River in the coming weeks, the Blue Pool access will be closed from Tuesday 24 October 2017 due to harvesting of the forestry blocks alongside the road. NZ Forest managers have signage in place at key areas identifying the work in progress which is intended to be completed over the next 6 weeks. It is important that access is managed due to the hazards present onsite during this period.
We please ask that this closure is respected as it will provide the opportunity for further discussions around longterm access with the landowners and managers.
For any public inquiries, people can contact New Zealand Forest Managers Office 07 3868757.
They advise: The latest Blue Pool access road re-opening date is 22 December although they – NZ Forest Managers – hope to be out of there before then.
