Anglers please note the river is currently closed for winter. Also, anglers can get more access and regulation information for Stone Jug Rd via our new access map here (rivers that are closed are shown in red, open are in blue):

I saw there was a bit of confusion about the article on Fish & Game opening up previously blocked access to the Whakapapa River.. Not your fault – it just seems most unfortunately people didn’t bother to actually read it..
Anyway, in order to help clarify the situation, I made up these slides, which you are welcome to use.
