Tongariro fly casting school

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I hope you read the ‘classic’ priceless quote in yesterday’s TRM Daily Report (that is the author above adding to his versatility).

IMG_5483-1-624x832“My favourite (fly fishing) style is the style that catches fish, legally of course. If you haven’t got past page one of the Kama Sutra, fine, stick to streamers. You know who you are! For those of us who are more adventurous try them all, each method has its optimal time and place. Versatility adds to the enjoyment. Hey, I am talking about fishing here!”

Every Sunday the TRM report has been prepared by the readers telling why they prefer to fish the Tongariro River over the many others available.  And not all are TRM inmates either, as indicated in yesterday’s story.

The author, Stephen Kyle, was discovered yesterday adding more versatility to his repertoire at the LOOP fly casting clinic.  This was a follow up of their casting lessons on Saturday teaching two handed spey casting techniques on the Tongariro RIver plus teaching more tricks for casting into the wind on the local Taupahi Domain.

So we requested the Managing Director of LOOP distributors, Grant Febery, (photo on right) not to teach Stephen anything about two handed casting techniques as he already catches more trout than me.  Seems fair?

Anyway what we wanted to do, before I was distracted by Stephen’s roll casting across to the TRB, was commend LOOP for their clinics.  How many other rod distributors are prepared to spend their weekends passing on the essential lessons and techniques for fly casting?.  Last weekend they held a similar clinic in Tauranga, next week they are heading to the South Island..

At this point we should make it clear that TRM are commercially virgins, clean and untainted.  We do not recommend any tackle shops over others – in this region they are all good – and similarly do not endorse any brands over others.

But after their clinics and their free demos by LOOP we have to suggest they are the best rod you have never heard of.  Indeed, we do not even know who LOOP are…

And no, they did not stay at TRM, just in case you were wondering.

644203_496984047015166_1712737567_nWe have also been advised that Sporting Life tackle shop have their own international fly casting instructor and celebrity raconteur in store tomorrow.

As this blog is in praise of LOOP’s fly casting clinics, we have only provided the anonymous photo but someone may recognise him?

As he is undoubtedly the BIGGEST name in trout fishing in the Taupo region we are amazed he has not been appointed by one of the other rod distributors as their Tongariro Ambassador?.  He has all the solutions for tickling trout, ever-lasting life, secrets of the universe, DOC’s trout farm & carp farming, and anything else you always wanted to know but were afraid to ask.  Even more than SWMBO….
