Guests love the covey of quail that share the bids feeding. Wild bunnies are often seen around the border gardens. The tuis on the flax are a constant source of amusement. There is nothing like being woken up by a bell bird to start the day in a good mood.
BUT… Following last few emailed complaints to Taupo Council between Christmas and New Year. This ‘Daily Report’ is specially for those guests who suffered early wake-up calls from a noisy rooster next door during the last few weeks.
25 December: URGENT Yesterday your ranger called in to confirm the noisy rooster problem had been solved and he would be killed that day.. This morning the ghost of the dead rooster started crowing at 3.45 am.
The tourists at Judges Pool Motel and Tongariro River Motel have put up with this every morning for the last three weeks. It has to end.
Please ask your ranger to bring his axe with him or we will lend him one.
26 December: Today the ghost of the dead rooster started crowing at 6 am and went on for about an hour. PLEASE – WE NEED HELP. Two Americans, one Dane and one Italian guest complained. OK?
Please do something – anything…!!!
27 December: The ghost of the dead rooster started crowing this morning at 5.11 am – just thought you would like to know. This morning the number of complaints was only three… Please do something – anything – to hasten his demise or to exorcise the ghost. Thanking you in anticipation
28 December: Thank you – Ranger (Jerry) just called in to confirm the rooster lost his head. Case closed…
30 December Update: The Ranger returned following more complaints of early morning crowing.
Locals who suffered for the last few weeks must be still hearing the rooster in their sleep…
