TRM Holiday project?

IMG_2441 TRM Summer Holiday Project:

IMG_7172Happy New Year.  During 2016 Tongariro River Motel will post a series of ‘memoirs’  titled “Tongariro Fishos”.

Many thanks to all those contributions received to date. They are fascinating.  We know you will enjoy them.  TRM promise you some most entertaining memoirs.

We mentioned the proposal about a month ago and are thrilled with the response.  Many thanks.  We are particularly keen to receive such memories from those more ‘mature’ anglers who have visited and fished the Tongariro for many years – before their wealth of knowledge and experience is lost.

IMG_2436Many of the modern generation have no idea or cannot believe the conditions back before the Tongariro hydro scheme reduced the flow and changed the river forever.  This is an opportunity to share your precious Tongariro  memories with other anglers.  Most featured ‘fishos’ will naturally be TRM inmates whilst others may just appear. But all other Tongariro anglers’ contributions will be very welcome.

Many anglers are now living the good life – having converted their passion into a vocation or retirement lifestyle.  Some may still reluctantly have real day jobs too, but their minds and hearts are on the Tongariro.  Work is so over-rated…

So many have such wonderful Tongariro fishing history and memories that need to be shared before they are lost.

IMG_3353For many the Tongariro has solved the riddle of achieving the good life in their quest for job satisfaction and happiness above all else – in fly fishing.

So many times guests have commented on other wonderful Tongariro characters they have met.  We need their stories told.  Hopefully they may read this or – if you know of someone – you might pass it on.

Many have returned year after year.  Such are the attractions and charm of the Tongariro River environment.

Autumn 18Some are initially addicted to the trout fishing but often it is much more the Tongariro River or the National Parks or the location or the people that is the attraction.  We would love to read your story.

So this is your invitation to participate.  ‘Anonymous’ participation is OK.

TRM have asked everyone the same line of questions – they are not compulsory – as a guide only:
