As usual, after other inmates had booked out early because of the rain, the fishing immediately improved. This happens every time it rains.  Last Friday the dry conditions absorbed most of the rain and the river did not flood as expected.  Instead it became very fishy…

When the river is running fast and coloured the trout are trained to move out to the edges away from the main flow to avoid the abrasive pumice in their gills and to make it easier for anglers. 

That’s where Denis ambushed them.
