These autumn photos of Taupahi Road illustrate the parking problems around Tongariro River Motel. Obviously we have an unusual parking problem and SWMBO is not sure how to fix it.
This really is a special part of the world… We sent it to compare Jane’s facebook photo below of London’s parking pressures in Autumn… We love London too but know where we would rather be. There are big wild trout waiting down the end of our road too.
Even in the rain yesterday Taupahi Road looks good – except for the parking problem?.
One question we keep being asked – “When is the best time to come trout fishing?”. Some imagine certain times must be better than others and keep putting it off. It is true that after rain is as good as any as the increased river flow usually induces a fresh run of trout. They often wait until they can smell the fresh water before commencing their spawning runs. At the moment it should be perfect as we have never seen so many trout in the river for the last ten years. So SWMBO’s standard answer to the regular question of ‘when’ is:
“There are seven days in the week and someday isn’t one of them”.
