Only at TRM…  Yesterday I went to check on the progress of TRM’s hard working house-keeping team.  The photos says it all…  Seated are Julie-Anne and Betty enjoying their morning tea – hot muffins straight out of the oven – being waited on by Lizzie Miller in Unit 6.  Only at TRM will you find such good service.  You can tell SWMBO is still away.  (She Who Must Be Obeyed usually manages everything at TRM but is on sick leave – recuperating from emotional management stress on a beach in Thailand.

Lizzie and Chris Miller are here for a week to fish the Tongariro but their programme today was interrupted by the “Recreational Release”. 

This is when Genesis close off the Poutu Canal – image below – and the river is restored to its natural level for about six hours between 9 am and 3 pm.  TRM has been full for the last week or so as most other anglers travel over to Lake Otamangakau chasing trophy trout.  TRM’s water strider rafts have been in demand – see videos below.  On days like this the lake is really beautiful and peaceful.  But do not be fooled – in the last week inmates have returned freezing despite wearing full winter gear due to the cold snap.
