On February 11 TRM’s blog provided an interesting perspective to indicate how overseas anglers rate the North Island back-country fishing during the summer months. The report was dated pre-covid. That was followed by another West Island fisho asking if the remote fishing has changed much since then. He was trying to decide between the North or South Island for his next trip.
As I did not have any recent personal experience and would be considered biased (?) I rely on TRM inmates’ best evidence in the photos just received showing various central plateau rivers and a typical mix of the trout and river conditions you might expect. Many thanks to UK angler Darren Woodmass. A local guide is strongly recommended and a healthy level of fitness.
