Fishing Update:
Meanwhile the superb Tongariro fishing continues – certainly the best season on the last 12 years in terms of the size and condition of the trout with fish being landed all day in all pools. This is not just our opinion. Peter, a retired inmate from Unit 2 has just extended his stay for another day. He has been here since Sunday and says that he has been fishing here since he was 12 and these this is the best trout fishing he has ever experienced. He has lost count of how many he has returned. Wonderful…
Damp conditions this morning and a wet day forecast today so that will just increase the pressure for another big spawning run. Fantastic…
“Selfie” image below is TRM angler is Matthew Fahner – an American angler living in Adelaide – who is a keen follower of the Daily Reports. He is hoping to put together a video story of his trip to the Tongariro. So watch this space…
He likes this place so much he is intending to get wed here in 2018. We offered him the TRM taxi for a bridal car…
He writes:
“Hi! A huge thank you for what you do. A beaut 3lb jack, beautifully conditioned and now in an oven bag with Lawry’s seasoning salt and Balmain & Rozelle spice blend from Herbie’s (lime leaves, lemon myrtle, turmeric, salt, cumin, ginger, garlic, chili, coriander, galangal, caraway, cayenne). “
