Email received today from a regular West Island inmate, John McDougall, to illustrate the brown trout from their “trophy lake” in Tassie…
He commented: “Hi Ross N Pip , greetings from the other “South Island “ . Trust all’s well and business ok , looking forward to a winter fish.. cheers John”

It was not supposed to be a “pissing contest” and I hope John will not mind, but just interesting to compare the brown trout from their trophy lake in Tasmania… This may explain why usually TRM is full of West Islanders at this time of the season.
So SWMBO replied with two photos of Barry Stuck from Waikato and Trevor Cardno from Hawkes Bay with their two “keepers” today for them to compare – being a small sample from their catch at our trophy Lake O. These aren’t their biggest but just today’s samples.
Barry has been here for the last week and is at TRM for the rest of February.
He is another who also confirms it is the best season we have ever enjoyed. (Hint, hint…)
