As mentioned previously, anglers must get weary reading the same stuff from TRM year after year – some have even questioned it? – so it is refreshing to hear from other inmates.
For the rest of 2016 TRM hope to record as many opinions of why tourists prefer Turangi and the Tongariro River fishing.
We have tried to extend the interviews to more than just anglers. Everyone has their own reasons. If TRM told you then we accept it is reasonable for readers to question it due to possible commercial motives.
But when Hannah interviews the suspects using her charm she always gets much more genuine info than we expected. Naturally at TRM most are experienced trout anglers but some are visiting as tourists for the first time, some are not here for the fishing at all.
Everyone’s opinion is much valued by TRM’s ‘research department’ (?) to identify the little important issues that motivate people to return here for so many years. So we hope you enjoy them.
This morning your reporter is Scott Collins – one of our more consistent anglers who was mentioned in the ‘peeing contest’ in yesterday’s Daily Report. Thank you Scott for explaining all the reasons he visits at least 12 times every year. Of course most of his success is due to his lucky hat… We promise not to divulge your favourite pool. Enjoy!
