New management team…

We have been doing it so hard at TRM… We only just survived Level 4 restrictions.

TRM’s corona champions

TRM diligently satisfied all the Level 4 restrictions. SWMBO’s new Doctor, Sir Ashley from the Kremlin, reminded Her each day that all oldies had to remain hidden in a bubble indoors. I am sure if he asked SWMBO to keep me in a bubble for the rest of the year She would agree. I was too frightened to move outside without getting reported and arrested. Fortunately, She organised TRM’s inmates who came to the rescue. What wonderful Kiwi spirit. We are so blessed.

Above are John & Marina dealing with the hedges. Can you believe they have also been doing all SWMBO’s shopping and regularly provided morning teas with fresh-baked cheese scones and scrumptious muffins and special ANZAC cookies. Now Marina is also preparing a video of their compulsory internment (watch this space) between editing my latest fishy writing creation. What extraordinary inmates!

Pete did all the mowing including the council’s verges on SH1.

After several weeks since the ban was enforced, this added up to over an acre of Her botanic wonderland suffering serious deferred maintenance – lawns looking more like paddocks desperately needing mowing, boundary hedges sprouting everywhere requiring trimming, trees crying out for pruning, out of control gardens needing weeding, etc. There was so much to do. The SH1 wide verge usually mowed by the council was very overgrown and made TRM look too neglected.

Truth is it did not matter too much as there were no tourists passing through anyway. But SWMBO has such high standards.

Cathy attacked the weeds everywhere.

After so many years here we thought we must have seen it all? But SWMBO was astonished by these inmates’ energy. So grateful thanks to Ashley’s restrictions to trap these guests here. As we – in our young 70’s – had to remain hiding in our bubble, they looked after TRM instead. I mean everything. They serviced their own units, washed their own linen and towels, and then turned their attention to the landscaping.

The images above tell the story of Cathy, Pete, Marina & John & Sarah. Sarah in Unit 2 provided the high energy vege soup. What wonderful inmates! We still cannot believe we have been so spoiled.
