It is fun to experiment with this social media stuff.
On Sunday we experimented by using ‘nudity’ to boost our ratings. The fishy subject was introduced on our facebooks with all the trigger words – like “raw, rude, bare, nudity” to test if it would get edited? In addition we warned readers that the story had “nothing to do with the fishing or the temperatures – it was just to capture your attention to read the full grubby story” and then referred them to the Daily Report.
Ir worked. Just as you would expect the usual Sunday report response doubled. So now we know what to do when ratings are struggling. All we need is some models.
Some say you should not expect to catch BIG browns in the middle of September?
The one golden rule on the Tongariro is to ignore all the traditional rules – you just never know what you might find – as indicated in the other photo above.
OK? Photo is of two Auckland inmates – Craig Bainbridge and Dennis Shine – thrilled with their catch.
The big solid browns weighed in at 6, 6.25, 6.75 & 7 pound. All in good condition and they quickly disappeared into TRM smoker.
Everyone naturally wanted to know “where?” I tried and even SWMBO tried but we are still not exactly where they were caught. Everyone got a different story. Don’t you love it?. It all adds to the attraction of trout fishing.
So next time you are here just follow this truck wheel cover below and let us know where…
