An ANNIVERSARY DAY which nobody will be celebrating…

Exactly one year ago, the council contractors arrived without any warning or consultation and pruned a magnificent Red Oak Tree on Taupahi Road.

Above are the “before” photos taken from this motel on 14 November 2024, followed below by the “after” scenario photos one year later.

Spot the difference?

Not much more needs explanation, apart from continued concern of Council staff denying any responsibility and bungling their way through by hiding behind the Resource Consent application, which now may not be necessary.

The lush spring growth confirms the Red Oak has recovered so well that residents now prefer Council’s expert pruners should stay away.

However, it would be interesting to learn how much $ Council have wasted on upsetting ratepayers… Don’t hold your breath.
