At this time of the year while waiting for the cicada hatch, many TRM anglers head for Lake O.
During our river walk yesterday we could hardly hear the river music, the burble of the Tongariro was drowned out by the cicadas. This was the first time this year that the surrounding river environment was dominated by the click click as they rub their legs together looking for a mate. Now we just have to wait for the trout to recognise them too.
Stuart and several other Lake O addicts will be arriving just in time for the cicadas in February.
