It happened some time ago, so it is now safe to report on these visiting fishos from West Island who spun their fishy tale that seemed too good to be true. The inmate from Canberra was struggling and desperate for a trophy size fishy trout photo to show the boys back home how successful they were. This was the winner.

Tongariro anglers with better memories may imagine they have seen these trout before. About ten years ago they were displayed above the servery in the restaurant at Bridge Lodge. When the staff were not looking, the anon angler climbed on a chair to remove them and sneaked outside for his epic trophy photo. You can make out the SH1 road bridge in the background. We wonder where they are now?
