Thank you to all those inmates from all around the world who emailed or phoned to express their concerns about the recent earthquakes in South Island. i.e.
From Kicki in Sweden: Hi Ross and Pip!
News about the terrible earthquakes have reached us here in Sweden and I just wanted to check in on you guys and make sure you are all ok?
Lots of love,
Looking forward to seeing you in February!
Kicki
From Jane in UK: Just checking Turangi is still standing? It all looks awful from what we can see here 🙁 One of the quakes seems very close to you?
Love and thoughts to all Kiwi’s & beautiful New Zealand. You will be in my prayers tonight. Hang on tight. London and I are thinking of you. ![]()
From Murray in Australia: Hi Ross & Pip,
We hope all is well following the earthquake down south.
Regards,
Murray & Pauline
From USA: Earthquakes don’t frighten me. I just have to get outta here. Will you adopt me?
From DT in Hamilton: Hi to you all. Hope you are all safe and well after that shake last night….. I woke thinking I had vertigo and that someone was trying to climb through bathroom window and blinds. Not a great feeling! Almost felt like a teenager and needing to sleep with one foot on floor and one on wall. Misspent youth 😳
And so many others – many thanks. TRM anglers from West Island – Mornington Peninsula Fly Fishing Club – received a nasty surprise and most did not get much sleep for the rest of the night. One left for Wellington at 1 am. The TRM management blissfully slept through it all…
Meanwhile the Tongariro had some rain here too. Below is the Tongariro 2 day rain graph as at 7 am. Perhaps Lake O might be the best place today… again.
