What spectacular signage… Warning – this is a rare TRM promotion blog so you don’t have to read it (?) but you might miss something…
Recently we were given a rev up by TRM’s marketing ‘consultant’ (aka: info@reddog.co.nz) who organises our brilliant promotional stuff. I know you thought that was SWMBO but the fact is we rely on others much younger and smarter who understand what the internet stuff is really capable of. We just fill in the gaps – like today – and go “gee whiz!” every day. Anyway she was warning us that other motels may be doing better so we should check TRM’s room rates… But, I pleaded, they are not comparable. Why?
Because of all the “freebies” built into the TRM room rates – which you may be unaware of so hence this reminder. Instead of charging guests on top of the room rates for all the smaller items and services, at TRM there is only one inclusive rate. That is the only way SWMBO can remember it. Obviously She had not communicated the freebies include such extras as:
FREE laundry includes washing machine, dryer, soap powder, clothes line, etc. If guests have a large load they often use the commercial machines providing the daily motel laundry has been completed.
FREE bikes – with a choice of touring bikes or mountain bikes plus helmets, bike locks, pannier bags, rod holders, even fish bags. The Tongariro River Trail is less than two minutes ride away.
(TRM has just purchased more bikes in preparation for the opening of the T2T – Taupo to Turangi – bike trail. OK – we know they have not started construction yet. They are still wasting all their money and time on more ‘Consultant’s’ feasibility reports even though SWMBO has told them it will be an outstanding success. But it is happening and we will be ready…)
FREE rods, waders, boots, wading poles, fishing maps, fishing library, even Incept water-strider rafts ( providing inmates “qualify” for BOF – Boring Old Farts – status…) There is even a highly recommended entertaining informative daily website report to keep inmates up to date with any changes on the Tongariro River.. Also Fish&Game pamphlets and maps for other rivers.
FREE wifi, (Check the password with SWMBO as it is changed regularly)
FREE 50 channels of TV. Wide range of novels and other books and magazines and info in every unit – including maps for Tongariro Alpine Crossing and other local tracks, plus even menus from local restaurants.
FREE trout smoker (limited to twenty trout at a time), fish cleaning bench, etc.
FREE guest pick up and drop off at Turangi iSite bus stop.
FREE fishing advice from Ross and marital advice from SWMBO.
FREE dog walking service – (Pumpkin) available for kids walkies. TRM is a “dog friendly” motel and even allows their owners to stay too – provided they are well behaved.
FREE tourist guide service on weekends only – but you need to book well ahead. Probably the only motel in NZ that has our own tour guide for all the adventure activities in the Tongariro National Park.
There are no extras added to your room rate. i.e. We just had guests complaining they had to pay a 15% surcharge elsewhere on Queens Birthday weekend to provide for higher staff costs on public holidays. The tired old laundry staff at TRM do not get paid any more – even if they work all night.
So when all these freebies get factored into the ‘inclusive’ room rate TRM are more than just very competitive. Indeed, TRM offer the best value for any motel in Turangi. And now redDog has designed exciting new brochures to fit in with with our new logo and image.
