Another reminder of TRM ‘s buddy service with an escorted tramp or visit to the central plateau winter playground – but you will have to book…
i.e. Update from Tongariro Expeditions this morning advise:
“all go for transport and crampon hire option tomorrow
all go for fully guided options tomorrow
just a dusting of snow on track Thumbs up”
Now winter is upon us with the Ruapehu ski fields opening early July it is time to plan your ski/snowboard trip (and book Hannah?)
TRM has this buddy service for novice skiers or to take care of the kids up on the skifields at very competitive rates. If you are into ‘fun’, see the video below.
TRM recently had several tourists (photo below) wanting to tramp the Tongariro Crossing.
By taking Hannah to escort them and arrange all the transport at start and finish they hardly spent any more than if they had used any of the usual bus shuttle service and it gave them so much more flexibility to include other visits such as to the historic Te Porere redoubt – a fort still remaining from 1860’s colonial wars.
They even slept in until after all the bus crowds had gone…
On another windy day when the shuttle bus service was not operating due to the weather conditions Hannah arranged an alternative BIG DAY OUT with a one hour river hike, a two hour walk around a hidden lake, and a two hour alpine circuit to a spectacular waterfall.
The guests reactions confirm the mix of trails was better than the Tongariro Crossing.
So you don’t have to follow the crowds – there are other better alternative options to consider when you plan your next day out for a winter experience in Turangi.
