After many years of referring fishy tourists, we have never seen any other similar tourist venue that the anglers go back to year after year. Compared to any of the other raft fishing options this is the best value and most memorable scenic experience available.

We have heard back and seen videos from other tourists from USA and Australia who were absolutely impressed with the Mattock family and their choice of different raft fishing beats. It may appear unusual for a Turangi motel to make such recommendations for what could be regarded as competing tourist accommodation, but we have to admit, the Tongariro River cannot compete with them.
