This is a plea for other Tongariro fishos wading around the Reeds Pool or Jones Pool, to keep an eye out for Tony Marks. He is an elderly wet liner who may quietly wade into your space unless he knows you are there. So if you see him call out to let him know you are there.

These photos were taken back in 2016. They may not be that remarkable until you realise Tony is blind.

He is a great character and TRM are delighted to see him back again, his second visit in 2023, to enjoy the Tongariro spawning runs while they last. He is such an inspiring example to “never give up”! Tony is usually found wading the lower river pools with his minder nearby. They are here for the rest of this week.
