On 12 June TRM’s blog invited entries – photo suggestions – to replace the existing sign on SH1 corner Piri (x-Link) Road. We suggested “It is time again to refresh and update the huge “Welcome to Turangi” sign on SH1. But SWMBO is in a dilemma about which tourist attractions to feature. Can you help?

Thank you to everyone for their suggestions. The most popular “people’s choice” contender below did not qualify as it is supposed to be more of a warm fuzzy “Welcome to Turangi” message.

The decision, of which sign image(s) were the most suitable, was restricted to touristy stuff to show off Turangi’s best scenic and recreational features to attract tourists. There were too many contenders to show them all so we called in the tourist professionals from DGLT to assist in the final selection. The winning photos will replace the existing image this week. Watch this space.
