My “job description” – TRM laundry assistant – also involves escorting so many anglers from all over the world. It could get so monotonous and boring but every now and then another fishing trip turns into such a more memorable experience that I have to tell you about it.
The images are from a day trip with an American inmate to Tarata Fishaway Lodge on the Rangitikei River.
If you are ever thinking about a day or more in a remote location where you can safely fish from a raft, casting and drifting, relaxing in a spectacular scenic gorge, then this is it. Highly recommended.
For more info google Tarata Fishaway.
I have stayed there previously, rather than drive back as it is a big day out for us older folk. The location is about one and a half hours south of TRM. Many fishy TRM inmates have also reported back favourably and confirmed just how good it is. It should be on your bucket list.
