Attention all Tongariro fishos

TONGARIRO RIVER FLOW CHANGES

There will be an increase in flows on the Tongariro River from 3rd April 2017 to 7th April.

A few years ago – I think it was 2007 – Genesis had to block off the Poutu Canal (between the Tongariro River and Lake Rotoaira) for over a week for repairs. 

A similar sustained high flow resulted in spectacular catches on the Tongariro River – just like the good old days before the Tongariro Power Project changed the flows. 

That was probably the best period of fishing on the Tongariro many TRM inmates have ever experienced…. 

If you want to target BIG browns then that week, 3 – 7 April, would be a good time – but you will need to book now!!!

Also Daylight savings end 2 April so you can sleep in for an hour as well…
