Not surprisingly, the number of bikers enjoying the river scenery on the Tongariro River Trail has increased during the holidays. TRM had one inmate crash out yesterday. Again we ask those concerned about the poor state of the track erosion – rutted out and dangerous over the hill at the northern end on the TRB (True Right Bank looking downriver) – to direct their complaints to DOC and Taupo Council. Both will avoid any responsibility and blame each other. SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed is the TRM Manager and in charge of all risky recreational activities which may require the services of a nurse) tries to restrict traffic toward the loop south of the Koura Street swing bridge down to Red Hut bridge.
