DOC have been rightly concerned about their signs getting trashed. A common problem everywhere. The third time they replaced their Didymo awareness sign on the SH1 corner, it was mounted so high that the kids could not reach it.

The TRM brief video above was posted about 11 years ago to show how trout fishing signs dominate tourism around the Tongariro River. Strangely none of these have been vandalised.
