Once again, congratulations to Fishing and Outdoors newspaper (Motto – FISH TODAY FOR TOMORROW).
They are the only regular newspaper with the courage to thoroughly investigate and expose controversial environmental issues of concern to anglers and anyone else involved in NZ’s outdoors environment – usually issues that the daily newspapers are not willing to tackle.
Fishing and Outdoors is a ‘not to be missed’ accumulation and summary of all other fishy magazines and organisations news and concerns in one monthly issue.
Their Editor – Graham Carter – deserves acknowledgement and gratitude from all anglers and trampers and their organisations concerned about maintaining and protecting NZ’s great outdoors natural habitat.
Their October issue headline said it all MPI – complete scumbags. Heady stuff but at last someone had the courage to put it in print. I was reminded of the Fishing and Outdoors claims this morning reading a NZ Herald ‘opinion’ article by Rachel Stewart which confirmed the Fishing and Outdoors lead article with comments such as:
“Why do I despise MPI? Let me count the ways.” Headline “Path of destruction and dim-wittedness” Sub-heading – “Ministry’s tardiness and obstructive behaviour revealed in animal welfare, sustainable farming and the law.” etc. These are mentioned to confirm Fishing and Outdoors are not alone in their criticism but the daily papers take a long time to catch up.
The latest Fishing and Outdoors November issue should be read by all freshwater anglers as well.
