TRM recently warned that, to preserve the sanity of other inmates, we cannot accommodate dogs that have any aggressive tendencies. Hunting dogs, guard dogs, pig dogs, noisy dogs, savage dogs are a no-no.

Since then, with the New Year holiday season approaching, we have received a number of calls to confirm whether their pooches will qualify. Most inmates are responsible but we have been caught out by cunning guests booking through OTAs (Online travel agents like booking-dot-com) without revealing the savage, protective, barking-mad nature of their dog.

So SWMBO does Her best to be careful to select only the nicest doggie guests.

Recently TRM accommodated one such dog. The owners were concerned he might be TOO BIG? You decide… He wins the prize as the biggest dog we have ever accommodated so he was placed in our largest two bedroom unit. He made it look like a little dog kennel. Fortunately, his size did not reflect his calm, lovable nature. St. Bernards are renowned for their good temperament. Needless to say he passed with honours and will be back for a week in January.
