Happy New Year… We are quite relieved that our 17th year at TRM is over. The past year was memorable in more ways than just covid issues… Sadly the trends overseas suggest we need to be prepared for much more to come – 2022 already looks like it is shaping up as a year of frustrating political, social and economic divergence.

After the last year of difficult unpredictable conditions arising from the Covid restrictions, our selective memory will be to remember the support received from so many regular inmates and the superb trout condition in the Tongariro River and throughout the Toe-paw region. At TRM we prefer the good things in life.

TRM missed all our tourist anglers from West Island and beyond. We look forward, hopefully, to catch up with everyone again during 2022.

What a beautiful river…if you lean forward you can smell the trout.

We feel very fortunate here at TRM – when the other stresses appear, we can go for a leisurely stroll along the Tongariro River and all the problems just drift away. We hope you can enjoy the same in 2022.
